Hello, my name is Jordyn Van Camp. I am a passionate, dedicated, outgoing fourteen year old who dreams of playing college soccer and getting her degree in sports medicine.
I have been playing soccer since I was five years old and I instantly fell in love. I began playing competitive soccer when I was eight years old and since then I’ve played for four different clubs. Within all of my experience, I have learned how to read the field and distribute the ball very well. On top of that, I am super fast. I am very committed and have been ever since I joined my second club, reason being I traveled and still do travel an hour to practice three days a week.
As a competitive soccer player, there are many expectations. You are expected to be the best, as that is everybody’s goal. But what is the best? The best isn’t to just be an amazing player, but to have the qualities of an amazing player. An amazing player in my book is someone who not only works well with the ball, but works well with their team. They need to be kind, set positive examples, share your love and energy for the game, and set your teammates up for success.
Aside of going for soccer, I plan to go to college and get some sort of medical degree. I want to help people and I want to make a difference. I know I can do that as an athlete and as a student.
