Melanie Mathewson '16 Recruiting Profile

I would love to play college soccer as soccer has been a very important part of my life. Academics are also very important so I am eager to attend a college that is strong in both soccer and academics.  I know I will be valuable to a soccer program because not only am I a good player, I am a good teammate, leader and hard worker.

I am not afraid to put in the effort and time it takes to excel at something and when I put my mind to it I can get things done. I have been awarded many honors for my skills on the field as well as my character. I was recently awarded the coaches' award for my high school team because of my ability to lead our defense and mentor the younger players.I am also the captain on my club team and am very proud of this honor.

I am a great student and and thank the discipline I have learned in soccer for carrying over to the classroom. I hope to build on my passion and love for the game of soccer and to gain and broaden my knowledge of the sport. It would mean a lot to me to be granted the oppurtunity to play at the collegiate level, and I am excited to see what's next for me.
