As a mobile defensive player I play outside back for the Santa Barbara Soccer Club U17’s. We just competed in the WCDA Showcase Tournament in San Diego, defeating an LA Premier team 3-1 and the San Diego Academy team 6-2. We play an aggressive style of soccer that focuses on possession and creating opportunities. With an emphasis on team defense, when an opportunity presents itself, I’m encouraged to make long runs up the sideline with frequent crosses into the box. I work hard to improve my skills and conditioning by playing soccer year round on both my club team and the high school varsity team. I’ve been blessed with speed and it’s rare to find a player on the field in any game that can out pace me. I’m fortunate to have both a D1 coach and an NAIA coach overseeing my soccer development. With the help of these two dedicated professionals I’m excited to explore the college soccer options available to me.
In addition to athletics, I work equally hard academically by taking challenging courses and maintaining high grades. Balance is important to me so I’m looking for an educational opportunity that will provide a balance between athletics and academics. I know that both endeavors require tremendous dedication to stay at the top of the game. I believe by balancing year-round soccer, a rigorous academic course schedule, and activities such as church youth group and volunteering, that I am well prepared to make the transition to college and make an immediate impact on the soccer field.
