I have played soccer since I was 5 years old and I've played club soccer for 7 years to date. Last year when I made the high school varsity soccer team, I was very excited because my passion for soccer could now contribute to my high school team. That same season our team won the division title and went to semi-finals in CIF playoffs. In the spring season and as a starting short stop, our varsity softball team also won the league division and took 2nd place in the CIF championships. Throughout the year I took challenging academic courses and ended the year with a 3.94 overall grade point average, while playing these two varsity sports, and on a club soccer team. This was challenging, however it helped me to understand the importance of finding a balance between spending time on my sports, on my studies and also maintaining healthy relationships with my family and friends.
I am a very athletic player and have played competitively in other sports in addition to soccer. I also have 10 years of experience as a softball player and my teams have won on the district, state and national levels. On my sports teams and specifically on my soccer teams, I have learned about leadership, commitment and the importance of comradery and teamwork on the playing field. Over the next three years in high school, I will continue to be a strong athletic leader on the field and an academic leader in the classroom and in school related functions. As a result, I am looking for a college program that will be a good fit for me both athletically and academically to prepare me for a challenging and rewarding career in Engineering or Political Science. I believe I have the work-ethic, commitment and leadership skills to be a great fit for your program.
