Maria Esparza '11 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Maria Esparza. I am 5'3" and weigh 125lbs. I can accelerate quickly in a short amount of time and distance. I am going to be a senior this coming season (2010-2011). I work really hard to complete my goals. In the classroom I standout with my high grades and out on the field is no exception. I can play on the defense and hold my ground and at the same time be able to play up top and score goals. Playing college soccer has been in my plans since elementary school and every year I think I have gotten closer to that dream coming true. I am a strong person with the qualities to become a leader as well as a great listener. My goals are to become a better soccer player and help my team succeed. The size of the school doesn't really matter, for me the most important things would have to be a high educational level and of course and dedicated womens' soccer program. It would be better to stay on the west coast, preferably California, but if an opportunity comes up else where then I am up to consider it. My intentions are to major in pediatrics or in health professions and become a pediatrician or a sports therapist or even a sports trainer. Being able to receive a scholarship would be awesome because I do come from a low income family and my parents can't really afford to pay for my college at the same time as they try to pay the bills and pay for my other two sisters go to college as well. They both receive financial aid, but sometimes it just doesn't last them the whole time and my parents have to pitch in. I can do whatever it is needed to make the team go far.
