I have always been fond of participating in sports since I can remember. Through watching or playing the beautiful game, I have loved soccer. I started playing organized soccer when I was 5, and I have improved each year. One thing I have learned how to do is read the game and anticipate play which has enhanced my understanding and knowledge of soccer. While I perform best as a defensive back, my understanding and positioning has allowed me to play multiple positions for my teams, including goalkeeper, central midfielder, and forward.
Even though I am a committed student of the game, I always put academics first. I plan to continue to maintain high grades in highschool and then advance to college where I hope to accel in the Kinesiology program. I really enjoy competition and athletics and want to find a career where I can be involved in helping other athletes perform both on and off the field.
I’m someone who will always give 100% in school and on the field. I will overcome any bump in my road to success. As proof, I have a learning disorder, dyslexia. I knew I had this challenge in 2nd grade, but was able to cope with the disorder on my own until my 5th grade teacher and my parents discovered the disorder and had me evaluated to find out I had dyslexia. Even with this learning disorder, I was an honors student all through middle school and continue to do well in high school. My commitment to my success and my drive and desire to succeed enables me to overcome the hurdle and still perform well in school. My coaches will tell you I am the same way on the athletic field, my heart and determination lead me to succeed.
