Personal Statement

This will be my sophomore year at College of the Canyons. I have this season left before transferring out for next season. I hope to be recruited by the end of my season at COC. I am a strong defender and creative as well. I primarily play as a right back, but this season I have found myself playing as a central defender. However, Im a utility player and I get moved between central defender and right defender.
I recently made the Women's National team for my home country Papua New Guinea, and was privileged to have the honor to represent my country in the recent Pacific Games in 2015 held in Papua New Guinea. I was fortunate enough to be the starting left back for all four games including the grand final against reigning silver medalists New Caledonia. We won the Women's Football competition and defended the gold medal for the fourth consecutive time since Women's Football was introduced into the Pacific Games. This now means that we will go into olympic qualifiers against New Zealand in a home-and-away play-off game this January to qualify for the Rio Olympics in 2016.
I would love to major in International Business because I love traveling to different countries and experiencing different cultures and interacting with different people. After completing my studies (4 years), I plan to return to my country Papua New Guinea and help aspiring entrepreneurs establish their own businesses abroad which will give opportunities to high school graduates like myself to get a job and help the economy. My dream is to make a difference and help people.
It has been an honor to be the team captain for my club team SCV Magic U17 and U19 girls team for two years in a row. I enjoy helping my team mates and inspiring them to work hard and be the absolute best they can be. It would be a privilege to be able to have the opportunity to continue my soccer career and play in college. I have been playing for 11 years and it is a passion of mine ever since.
