My desire to play soccer dates back to my kindergarten years. Though now that I am a senior in high school, I train younger soccer players that have the same passion and work ethic as I do. I train them, just as I was trained, to learn and understand every position so that they become a versatile player. I give the same chance to these players that I received.
Though I have been a soccer player for nine years, I am also a Miner's Ravine 4-H officer, a past Placer FFA officer, SkillsUSA officer, and a Link Crew Leader. However, Placer FFA and Miners Ravine 4-H have opened my eyes to agriculture, leadership, and community service. Between these two groups, I put in hundreds of hours into my lamb project, being an officer, community service, and volunteer work for the non-profit Seniors First.
Throughout my time in agriculture, I have developed an interest in the field of veterinary medicine. Through the farm, Sanchez Dorsets which I am a co-owner of, I have received the chance to help the local veterinarians. Another particular interest of mine is livestock management. Management of the expenses, feed, and nutrition of the livestock. The ranch has provided insight of the Agricultural Industry. I received the wonderful chance, this last April, of helping the California Wool Growers Association with their annual ram sale in Porterville, California. Of course, my plans following the completion of high school are playing soccer at the collegiate level at a college the offers agricultural programs.
I am currently enrolled in Honors Pre-Calculus and English 1A however, I did take AP US History and AP English 11 my junior year. This year I intend to take the ROP, Regional Occupational Program, for veterinary science and becoming a certified veterinary assistant. I will, also, be playing soccer with a competitive team outside of school as well.
