Rachel Schroeder '14 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Rachel Schroeder and I am a center midfielder from Southern California. I have been involved in competitive soccer for the past 8 years. I am passionate about soccer and feel I have grown to be a tremendously competitive player. I just concluded the season playing GU17 Premier League with CSL, and played in both the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) and the Premier League with CSL during my GU16 season.

Presently, I am a junior at Arcadia High School with a grade point average of 3.4. I am 5’-7” and weigh 140 lbs. I have been a starter on the Varsity soccer team as a freshman, sophomore and junior, and helped lead them to the CIF playoffs all 3 years. As a sophomore I was the 2nd leading scorer on the team with 14 goals and 8 assists and as a junior this year I was the leading scorer with 10 goals and 12 assists (32 points). Also, last season I was honored AHS Offensive MVP, selected to 1st team All-Leagues as sophomore and junior, and helped my team to Pacific League Champions title the past 2 years. In addition, I was selected Captain of the Varsity squad for the 2012-2013 season. I absolutely love competing and battling to help my teams win. I consider myself a leader on and off the field with my strong work ethic in both school and sports. I try to lead by example, by being prepared and giving 100% to my academics and teammates.

I am a strong physical player, possess a very high soccer IQ and have great field vision. I feel I am very powerful in the air and absolutely love winning all balls. I play with skill and am calm and composed on the ball. I can use both feet to shoot, but am left foot dominant. I have a very strong foot and have been used by my coaches on set pieces and corner kicks. Set pieces have become one of my specialties. I am also able to change the field with one kick.

I love the game of soccer and am determined to make it to the collegiate level to continue my soccer career. I want to be able to start as a freshman and make an impact on my team. I love to travel so I am open to attending a University in most parts of the country, as long as they offer studies in areas of my interest.
