Personal Statement

My name is Siobhan Williamson and I am a Senior at Deer Valley High School in Antioch, CA. I have been playing goalie at the club level for the past nine years. I currently stand 5'-9" tall. I was the starting goalie for my HS JV team my freshman year and have been the starting goalie for our Varsity team since my Sophomore year. I offer hard work, a positive moral compass, respect for my coaches, teammates and I am tactically aware as I started my career as a left defender which helps my communication with the defense and understanding where they need to be positioned throughout the game.

I remember sitting down with my parents several years ago and discussing the direction I wanted to go with soccer and how it was going to fit into my future. We discussed the commitment being on a competition soccer team requires and we agreed that as a family we would all be committed if that was truly what I wanted. So here we are, several years later working together to make my dream of playing college soccer come true.

I really enjoy working with special needs kids so I volunteer with a program called TOP Soccer (The Outreach Program). It is a program that allows special needs kids an opportunity to play soccer, exercise and socialize with each other. I really love soccer and want to remain in the sports field after my playing career is over. The direction I would like to go is in the field of health & fitness with my ultimate goal being to become an Athletic Trainer.

Financial assistance is going to be very important to me in the college selection process.
I am open to both large and small colleges that will challenge me both academically and athletically. Ideally I would like to be at a program where I have an opportunity to compete for a starting position my freshman year.
