Rowing has allowed me to connect with many new people and break out of my shell in and out of practice. I have a strong set of goals involving erg scores and technique that I hope to achieve for this season and the next two years of my high school career. While I am committed to rowing and success in the sport, I also am committed to achieving academic excellence. I’m enrolled in honors and advanced classes and work hard to get good grades while managing a busy schedule during the season.
From my first days of novice year to now, it’s safe to say that rowing has taught me a great deal about hard work, dedication, and the good things they bring when applied to school and athletics. I plan to apply these transferable skills throughout my life, in high school, college, and my future career. In addition to being a hard worker, I take pride in my ability to self-motivate, my strong work ethic, and my understanding of the importance of teamwork. My goal is to attend a college best suited to me academically and athletically, and I’m driven to do whatever it takes to fulfill this.
