I rode as a competitive hunter jumper for 10 years. I traded in my saddle for an oar the summer prior to my freshman year in high school.
Transitioning from an individual sport to a team sport was different in many ways, but I noticed a common thread. In riding, I trusted that my horse would respond to my lead, in rowing I trust that my teammates are pulling for me as hard as I am pulling for them.
Having three coaches in three years while rowing for the NAC has taught me to adapt to new environments and new personalities.
I am competitive and driven; I am willing to trust in others and be outside of my personal comfort zone for the greater good in rowing, and in life.
