My name is Tori Bulgier, I am from Harleysville, Pennsylvania and I will be graduating in 2014 from Souderton Area High School. I am a midfielder looking to pursue the sport of lacrosse at the next level. I weigh 140lbs. and I am 5ft 5in. tall. Although I have been playing for nine years now, it is my first year of playing club lacrosse for Ultimate, as I have played on PA Pride for three years. During my freshman year at Souderton, I was a varsity starter and my team went 13-5 overall, reaching the first round of district playoffs. I was named rookie of the year and was selected to represent Pennsylvania, in the All-American National Lacrosse Classic over the summer. In the fall of my sophomore year I ran cross country and I recieved a varsity letter. I also participated in the Philly Showcase, where I was a fab 40 all-star. Prior to my sohpomore year, I played field hockey. In order to thoroughly condition myself for cross country and lacrosse, I had participated in various street races, one of which I was awarded a medal for being the first woman to finish. To continue, in my sophomore year of lacrosse, I was a varsity starter, but unfortunately suffered from a concussion and I was only able to play in seven games. However, we reached the first round of playoffs and when the season concluded I was given the team "spirit stick."
In the classroom, I strive to be the best, well-rounded student that I can possibly be. In my freshman and sophomore years I was enrolled in various honors courses. In my sophomore year, I was a staff writer for my school's award-winning newspaper. During my first two years at Souderton, I was recongized as a sudent of the month. I was recieved a character counts award as well as a student-spotlight in a foreign language. I am an honor roll student and I am involved in a club called S.A.V.E. (Students Against Violalting the Earth). In my sophomore year I was a buddy to an Olympian during a Special Olympics event that was held at my school. Also during my sophomore year, I helped organize and prepare a Zumba fundraiser for my school newspaper, in order to raise money for The Ronald McDonald Foundation. Next year I will be looking forward to my new position on my school newspaper, as Sports Editor. Lastly, I will be enrolled in two AP courses as well.
As I am very eager to compete and play at the next level, I would like to find a school that not only challenges me athletically, but academically as well. I am looking to pursue either a Communications or Journalism major. Excelling in my academics is my top priority. However, I uphold the work ethic and determination, in which I feel can help me succeed on the playing field as well. I am a very passionate and dedicated athlete, I believe that I work hard and put forth a 100% effort. It would be an honor to be given the opportunity to play at the next level. And I know that I have the determination and drive to help shape myself into the best player that I can possibly be.
