I am from Potomac, Maryland and aspire to play hockey in college. I would like to play at the highest level possible for me whether it be division 1, division 2, or division 3. This year I am representing my team as captain. I am only 15, but it is my second year on the U16's, and my coach and I get along great and have the same goals for the season. I like giving people advice and helping them out, but I also enjoy constructive criticism on how I can improve my game. I have also volunteered at several hockey and skating camps for kids helping to spread my love for the game.
School is very important to me and I want to make sure I find the right college that fits who I am. I would like to go to a medium to large school in a somewhat urban environment. I have a 3.9 GPA and I plan on taking the standardized tests as soon a possible.
I have played team sports since I was little. I used to play soccer, basketball, and hockey but I have gravitated towards hockey. Last year I started getting really serious about hockey and I discontinued playing my other sports. Because I have always played on a team, I have become very good at supporting my teammates and being encouraging to them on and off the ice. Whether it be in the gym, or on the ice, I will always have my teammates’ backs.
I have played every position except for goalie on the ice. I played defense when I was younger, but transitioned to forward, specifically center. I like playing center because it gives me the chance to see the ice completely different from the other positions. I like how center is a mix of offense and defense. I love being able to help out down low in the defensive zone and the offensive zone. To me it’s the perfect mix of what I love about hockey which makes me enjoy it so much.
