The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) is the governing body for all junior college athletic programs. JUCO golf can be a great fit for student-athletes who decide to pursue college golf later in their high school career, or who want to improve their scores and grades before transferring to a four-year institution. Plus, this level offers the most athletic scholarships, which can alleviate the burden of college costs for many families.
There are 98 NJCAA golf schools across the country, and each one can award a maximum of eight scholarships. With the average NJCAA golf team being made up of five players, athletic aid is readily available at most schools. For many athletes, JUCO golf is the perfect steppingstone to playing at the highest level. It’s a chance to improve academics and golf scores at the collegiate level before transferring to a four-year institution.
