Kayleigh McHugh '15 Recruiting Profile

            My name is Kayleigh McHugh from Sylvania, Ohio.  I attend Sylvania Northview High School where I play on the varsity golf team.  Currently my GPA is 3.6 and I will graduate in 2015. I am also a member of the Toledo Junior Golf Association where I compete in tournaments during the off-season.             Some of my recent accomplishments include the 2013 Player of the Year for the Northwest Ohio Girls Golf League, as well as placing in several of the TJGA summer tournaments.  Sylvania Northview High School is part of the Northern Lakes League Conference were my team took 2nd place in the 2013 season. At the  2013 NLLChampionship I received the medalist trophy with a score of 76.  I earned a 1st team NLL all-league spot and a 2nd team all-district spot for my junior season.  This winter I plan to lift weights and work on my swing to become a more consistent player. 

            While growing up, my parents told me to find a passion and pursue it and that is exactly what I am doing with golf.  I love the game and my dream is to continue improving so I can play at the collegiate level.  My goal is to incorporate the game of golf into my life forever whether it is playing, coaching, or instructing.  I enjoy volunteering my time to a local youth golf league where I instruct young golfers on the rules and mechanics of the game.  It is awesome to be a part of introducing the game of golf to the youth in my community and priceless to see their faces when they hit a great shot.  The game of golf is an incredible sport that builds integrity, teaches patience, shows honesty, and forms lasting friendships.  I look forward to what the game of golf will add to the shaping of my future.
