Lavonca Davis '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Lavonca Davis and I am currently a junior at Pickerington High School North in Pickerington, Ohio.  I am 16 years old and I have been golfing for 5 years now.  I finished this fall season as the #1 golfer on our Varsity A team, and I was voted MVP at the end of the season.  I helped lead my team to many victories and new school records both physically and mentally.  My coach designated me team captain and I am a member of our athletic leader group at school.  I have made 1st team all-conference every year, and this year I also made the all-district team.  I have a lot of work ahead of me in order to prepare for my senior season.  I am a very hard worker and I have dropped a considerable number of strokes each year with this year being about 8 strokes for 18 holes.  I have been working really hard this winter by going to our local dome and working with my swing coach.  I am always up for a challenge and willing to do whatever it takes to perform better in the sport I love.  One of my biggest dreams is to play college golf, especially at a successful school.

I am a perfectionist in every facet of my life.  I have been a straight A student since 5th grade.  I won't even accept an A- on my grade card.  I am very dedicated to my school work and all of my classes.  I take all Honors and AP classes because I love to be challenged.  My college plan is to major in Chemical Engineering.  I am also very hard working in golf.  I set goals for myself every year, and I work very hard to reach them.  This year my goal was to be #1 and no one knew if I would make it; however, I put in the time and I accomplished my goal.  Even when times got tough I did not give up because I am not, and will never be, a quiter.

I keep myself very busy and involved.  I love to volunteer and help whenever and wherever I can.  Competition dance also helps fill my schedule.  I am part of a few clubs and groups at school.  I have learned to manage and juggle my schedule very well over the years.  I do what I have to do to be successful.  I try to be a well rounded student and athlete.  I believe that I would be a great addition to any college golf team.  Thank you for your time in viewing my profile.
