Emily O'Donnell '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Emily O'Donnell and I am a 5'6 120 pound junior at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School in Brecksville, Ohio. I have participated in many sports (cross country, track, baseball, basketball, dance and cheer) both for my school and in my community. The summer prior to my freshman year of high school I decided to join the long-list of my family members on the golf course. I was a quick study and passionately fell in love with the game and had the desire to dedicate all my time and energy into the sport. I was golf team captain for the undefeated Junior Varsity Team my freshman year and quickly rose to the varsity level my sophomore and junior years. I have the reputation of being focused by consistently giving 100% both as I prepare and during a match. I have dedicated the off season to playing in over 40 tournaments and have three junior golf tours booked for the spring and summer of 2011. I have played in approximately 30 tournaments in the spring and summer, on the Southwest Junior Golf Tour. The summer of my junior year at the Grey Hawk Tournament I placed second place. I also participated in the Ohio Girls Golf Foundation tournament the summer going into my junior year. My high school varsity team had a fabulous year in 2011 and our efforts and dedication paid off as we became the first team in school history to finish with a perfect record of 16-0, won four out of five regular season tournaments. My team qualified for the state tournament at the Ohio State University Grey Course, for the first time in over a decade and beat the school record by 40 shots. I have been elected as the 2nd team All-Conference for the last two years and have been a leader for my team both on and off the course. I am enjoying high school and am involved in National Honor Society, I am Student Council Treasurer(Class of 2012), a drug/alcohol prevention leader, a volunteer tutor, and a three year varsity cheerleader all while sustaining a 3.6 point average. I am looking for a school where I can develop educationally as I pursue a business degree and be an asset to a golf team. I am open to any size college and geographic region. It is my dream to follow in my dad's footsteps and play athletics at the collegiate level as he has modeled how this has help him develop into a successful business leader and motivated person. I am certain that my experiences, leadership, desire and positive attitude will assist me in meeting both my team and personal goals on and off the course.
