Angela Tocco's NC...Personal Statement
Hello my name is Angela Tocco. I'm from Blauvelt, New York, some 20 miles north of New York City, in Rockland County.
I'm in my junior year at Tappan Zee High School, my cumulative GPA is 3.2 but this fall I raised it to 3.8. In addition to golf I also swim, ski, and play the trumpet. I started playing golf when I was 4 years old and have played in tournaments since I was 10. In 7th grade I made the boys varsity golf team and was the first girl to do so.
This past season, I qualified for individual sections and finished T13, playing at both Fenway and Mahopac golf courses from the back tees. My goal for this upcoming season is to qualify for the state team. While playing on my high school team I've learned that it doesn't matter how far you hit the ball as long as you have a good short game.
During the spring and summer I play tournaments with the Met PGA, AJGA, and Hurricane Golf Tour. This winter I have been working on becoming a better ball striker and managing my emotions on the golf course.
