Madelyn Phillips '13 Recruiting Profile

Hello!

My Name is Maddie Phillips! I have been playing Golf for 7 1/2 years. I have been on Varisty Golf  at Waubonsie Valley for 2 years, and JV my Freshman year. I have been on a winning Regional team 2 years in a row. Unfortuately I have not made it past Sectionals, and this past 2011 season our team won the Upstate 8 Conference. I have recieved a lot of competitive experience in my last two years and I hope to compete in State my Senior year.

I have also played Softball for 9 years for a Tournament team called the Naperville Diamonds, and I have played 3 years of High School Softball aswell. Overall, I believe that being a 2 sport athlete gives me an extra edge because both sports have a positive effect on my playing, whether it's hitting my driver off the tee or hitting a softball, both swings help each other immensely. Most of my Coaches, Friends, and Family, best describe me as being a team player, I am always looking out for the best interest of my team. I am also a natural born leader, I like to take charge and help out the coach as best as possible. My teammates for my high school team also refer to me as the mediator. Being on any team there is always some type of drama, and somehow I manage to keep everything peaceful. I am a very hard worker and I do not give up. If anyone every has doubts about me or my talent I am always ready to prove them wrong.
