My name is Cortni Jacobs and I will graduate with the class of 2020 at Adairsville High School in Adairsville, Georgia.
My goal is to become a nurse following obtaining my collage degree.
Being diagnosed at age 10 with Type 1 Diabetes, I had to have strength and determination to adjust to some major changes within my life. One of the biggest challenges was making sure my blood sugar levels remained in range during sports activities. Following the first few years after my diagnoses we struggled with maintaining blood sugar readings. I would drop low or high during sports. Since then we have determined the factors that cause the readings to be out of range and have made adjustments. I no longer have major blood sugar changes during activity. Through my diagnoses it has made me more determined to achieve my goals and to not let anything stop me in that endeavor.
Below is a link to some of my game footage.
