I ran track for many years and was on a travel team during middle school and my freshman year of high school. However, I decided that I really wanted to focus on golf as I loved the sport. So I decided to dedicate myself and give 100% to my golf game and pursue my dream to play in college. I have lettered in golf since my freshmen year, where I received “Most Improved Player” at the end of the season. In my junior year, I was appointed as the Team Captain, “Most Valuable Player” and I received “First Team All-League,” which is given to only the top ten golfers in the league. My team advanced to Sections and Masters, however, we did not advance to the State Finals. Not advancing helped me to grow as an individual and a team leader. It gave me an opportunity to refocus my efforts on playing at the collegiate level and evaluate my game. I also learned the value of being a “Go-to Person” for my teammates and how important it is to lead by example. I’m looking for a program that will fit me both academically as well as athletically. I have excellent leadership skills, a strong work-ethic and the talent to compete at the collegiate level. When given the opportunity, I know I can make a strong impact and contribute to the program.
