I started playing golf eight years ago and have not put my clubs down ever since. My life is revolved around my golf game and my academics; both of which make me very proud of what I have accomplished within the past few years. Some awards that I have achieved since the start of my high school career has been three consecutive years of scholar-athlete, Rookie of the Year in 2011, two consecutive Vardon awards in 2012-2013, and Varsity Captain in 2013 and 2014. Also, in out of school competitions, I have received numerous first through third place awards in SCPGA.
On the course, I may not hit the longest shots, but I usually play consistently straight throughout the round. My short game is exceptional in that I have a soft touch around the green, working around a system that I have developed throughout the years with my personal coach. I am extremely coachable and take all reflections by coaches seriously and adapt very quickly.
In school, I am known to be a hard worker and was voted Most Likely to be Successful within my class. I maintain a high GPA within honors and AP classes. Some extracurricular activities that I have been involved in has included being President of the Golf Club, Key Club, and other types of volunteer work. I have donated my time to work in the Children's Ministry at my church, specifying in the department of Children with Disabilities. I am also very involved in the junior program at Bear Creek Golf Club, managing and coordinating behind the scenes at golf camps and junior tournaments. I am a leader to many kids at the course, encouraging child development and enjoying helping whenever an opportunity presents itself.
Characteristics that separate me from others is that I accept the fact that there is always room to improve, no matter what. I realize that there will be many challenges that I will face within any situation that I am in, but I do not give these obstacles the power to stop me. My mental game is one of the main aspects of my life that I constantly work on and strive to become better at each and everyday. Whether it be tournaments or practices, less than perfect shots do not phase me and great shots do not ruin my focus. I am very determined in all that I do and am ready to become a positive leader and motivator to my newly found family of teammates.
I want to attend a college where I can study pharmacy and learn from my peers while pushing myself past my limits, both academically and physically. I want to gain as much knowledge and strength as I can within my college experience and be faced with more opportunities for my future in my career. I am definitely open to all options and am very appreciative of the chances that I have opened up for myself by playing golf. I hope to inspire my peers and become a role model to the junior players in their upcoming years.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile!
