In June of 2016 I decided to leave gymnastics after competing as a Level 8. I had been struggling with an elbow injury for 6 years. I started diving a few days a week over the summer. That fall my coach invited me to start practicing with his JO group. After 7 months, I was competing as a JO and qualified to USA Diving Zones and AAU Nationals.
After being injured for so long in gymnastics, my dream of being a college athlete had died, but now I feel like I found the sport that I was supposed to do all along. I would welcome any opportunities to dive in college. I thrive under the busy schedule that being involved in a competitive sport brings me. I have managed to maintain a great GPA and be involved with Key Club and the Health and Medical Club at my school, while diving at a pool that is an hour away from my home. My ultimate goal is find a school that offers a great nursing program and an opportunity to continue to grow as a diver.
My most current competed list for 1M is: 103B, 201B, 301C, 401B, 5132D, 105C, 203B, 403C; and for 3M is: 103B, 201B, 301C, 403B, 5132D, 105B, 203C, 404C. The dives I am currently working on/are my goals for this year are 1M: 105B, 404C, 303C, 5124D; and 3M: 203B, 303C, 405C, 205C. This year I also hope to do more synchro with my partner and find opportunities to try platform. I know that I have a long way to go but I enjoy the challenge and can’t wait to see what the future brings.
