Marissa Koch '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Marissa and I am a 5’ 9” volleyball player from Huntsville,  Alabama.  I am interested in both beach volleyball and indoor volleyball.  I was a freshman and starting player on my high school varsity team this year.  In addition, I was named to the 5A Area All-tournament team and I received the Coach’s Award.  I can never get enough practice.  I am a determined player and always strive to improve my skills.   I practice at home when I am not with my team.  I love to play with older girls so that I can continue to get better.  My motivation comes from watching other people.  Whenever I see someone else do an amazing shot or get an amazing dig, I want to learn how to do it. 

It is my dream to play college volleyball.  Ideally, I would like to go to a larger university in the South, Southeast or Western United States.  It is crucial that I go to a school with lots of competition and good academics.  Currently, I have a 4.0 GPA and I am interested in studying in the fields of athletic training, sports medicine, and/or nursing.
