Alyssa Platko '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alyssa Platko. I am a junior at Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. I will be graduating in May of 2014. I have achieved high honor roll every semester of my high school career as my current GPA is a 3.7. My dream is to attend a college that will provide me with an excellent education as well as having the opportunity to play basketball at a competitive level.

Basketball has been a huge part of my life since I was 6 years old. My basketball career has included being a part of several AAU teams as well as being a member of my high school's varsity squad since my freshman year earning three conference titles. This past season my high school team, through teamwork and determination, made it to the second round of state playoffs. During offseason, I continue to work on my game by playing on a travel team, individual practices and attending camps.
 
I am interested in finding a college that will not only benefit my future academically, but also allow me to continue my love for playing basketball. I am extremely dedicated to my work both in the classroom and on the court, so finding a school that shares these dedications is very important to me. I would be extremely grateful to be able to add playing at a collegiate level to my college experience.
 
I take great pride in being part of a team and would love to continue to improve and develop my game at the next level. Overall, I am looking for a university where I can share my qualities with others as a student, classmate, player, and teammate.
