Alexis Yanief '14 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Alexis Yanief and I am a 5 foot 8 inch, 135 pound junior guard for Thomas Jefferson High School located in Western Pennsylvania, or TJ as it is known in the area. I am three-year letterman and starter, leading the team last year in scoring, assists, steals, blocks and FG%. I was selected to the Daily News Fabulous 15 all-star team as a sophmore and junior and was selected to the all-section team my junior year.  I am a very athletic guard with the ability to drive to the basket and create my own shot and will be one of the top returning players in the WPIAL next year. I play for the Western PA Bruins AAU Basketball program, and we will be attending a number of exposure events throughout the year. I am a very focused and competitve student and rank 12th in a class of over 250. I am a member of the National Honor Society, currently carrying a 4.0 GPA. I am also a member of the Spanaish National Honor Society and I am currently taking AP English and AP Chemistry. I play varsity soccer for the high school, I am a 3-year letterman and the teams leading scoring the past two years and was the offensive MVP.  I enjoy track, but unfortunately my commitment to AAU basketball has prevented me from running track, although meet schedules times are changing, which may allow me to participate this year. I ran the 100m, 400m and anchor in the 100m and 400m relay. I am only 17 and really have not narrowed by choices down to what I plan to do in life, but I have an interest in the sciences and the medical field and probably would look into a program that involved those type of majors.
