Ainsley Thunell '21 Recruiting Profile

I am the oldest of four kids and have moved around a lot as a kid with my dads corporate job.   I have been blessed to have been exposed to higher level basketball my whole life by being exposed to coach Bruce Weber and Matt Painter, my dads former coaches. I have been a multi sport athlete my whole life until high school when I decided sophomore year to just focus on basketball.   I am looking for a program that embodies the family spirit I love at my current high school. Encouraging each other to be better while also having great relationships along the way. I am also looking for a coach who will continue to help me grow as a player in the next level. My coach described me as a “late developer”. He believes I still have a lot of basketball I can get better at and that I am highly coachable. I may not be the highest scorer on the team but I make a lot happen. I Can pass off the dribble, I can pass across court because of my height and strength and I can defend any position. I am very long and super coordinated for my height.  I am one of our highest rebounders on our team as well.  I am looking to get a general business degree.  I am graduating from not only one of the top basketball programs in Northwest PA, but one of the top academic high schools in the tri-state area.
