I have been playing basketball for approximately four years. I started playing at the house league level. Once I was on the team my coach saw my potential and nominated me to play on the select-house league team. Therefore I was on two teams that winter. This was the beginning of how I started playing basketball. For me, seeing that both coaches saw my raw talent and passion for the game pushed me to become a great basketball player who loves this game. My goal is to one day play for an elite women’s college/university basketball team.
When I think about basketball I think of hard work, determination, offence, defence, willingness to learn & playing as a team.... I understand that you have to be ready to adapt to change especially in a basketball game. However I know basketball is more than what I mentioned above. “Ball Is Life” You have to be mentally and physically & emotionally focused. Basketball IQ is a must!
Over the years I continue to train and attend basketball camps to perfect my skills. I have also represented Brampton Bounce (U14) Rep basketball team and now Mississauga Monarchs (U16) Rep team. In the summer months I joined the house league team once again and was chosen to be captain. Our team was the undeleted champions for the season. In the final game the opponent coach choose me to be the MVP. This has shown me that one person cannot take all the praise; this was a team effort. I do see myself as a team leader and wanting to lead by example.
My education is very important to me as I would like to major in Law. I work very hard so that my grades are at its best at all times. I want to attend a college/university where I can strive to get the best education and be best basketball player I can be. My goal is to make my family proud of who I become in the future. “Always reaching beyond the stars”
The quote that I think of is “Ball is Life” & “Education is Key”
