My collegiate athletic goals are to play college basketball. I would love to get a basketball scholarship to help my parents with my college tuition. I feel that I would be a good candidate for any team because I am a "Team First" player. I am a very unselfish player and love to assist my teammates to perform at their best. I think that is a characteristic that makes me different from other players. I work hard academically and I think that carries over onto the court. I love the strategic aspect of the game. The more I can learn and the more I know about the game the better leader I can be on the floor. As a point guard that is my role, to be the leader on the floor. I have always been a leader in the classroom and on the court. I feel my peers look to me to make the right decisions on and off the court. I have always been told I have very unique floor vision. I have been told many times the closer the game the better I play. I can perform under pressure and I think that is another characteristic that makes me unique from other players. The game is still fun to me. I think as players get older sometimes they forget why they started playing. I never want to lose that feeling on the court. When you love something you tend to be more dedicated to it and it is special to you. That is what basketball is to me...special. I feel it is a talent that God blessed me with and I want to honor Him by playing my best each and every time I step on the floor. As far as academics, I am a A/B honor student and a member of the Beta Club. I plan to continue to work hard academically throughout high school and college to ensure that I will have a successful future. As much as I love basketball, I know my education is the most important thing to having a successful future. I know God will put me where I need to be and I trust that my future is in His hands.
