I am a competitive, energetic, hard-working team leader on and off the court. I take pride in everything that I do because I am a firm believer that in order to succeed you have to be "all in". Basketball has deep roots in my family and I knew as a toddler when I first stepped on the court that I had fallen in love. My Dad signed me up for my first basketball clinic at the age of four and from that point on it has been my passion. Every winter season from 2001 has been my favorite time of the year. While I play as much as I can year round it is the traditional basketball season that truly gets my heart pumping. I played every CYO season through grade school and my 8th grade year culminated with a Diocesan League Championship for the 2nd time in my school's long history. I have participated in numerous CYO tournaments and have attended several camps at both Siena College and The College of St. Rose.
I am an AAU member and have played with Hoop Choice for three years taking one year off to Join the Saratoga Sparks AAU traveling team. My AAU experience has helped me strengthen my game and expose me to competitive tournament play in Massachusetts, Vermont, New Jersey and Upstate New York. I will be continuing with the Hoop Choice Club in the Spring of 2014.
I was accepted to Emma Willard School in Troy, New York as a high school freshman. Emma Willard is an extremely competitive Academic All Girls Independent Boarding School. It is here that my passion for basketball has grown stronger than ever and that my desire to play at the collegiate level became my number one goal. As a starting freshman on the Varsity team I led my team in scoring in 4 of our regular season games. I was third and second overall in both offensive and defensive rebounds respectively for that season. During my sophomore season I focused on developing my outside shot and led the team in 3 Point FG's and Assists earning the Most Improved Player Award at the end of the Season. As I begin my Junior Year as Captain, it is my personal goal to lead by example, utilize my ability to "read" the court to increase awareness and improve in all areas. I am a firm believer that there is always room for improvement and I will use my dedication to the game to achieve all of my goals.
In the Spring of 2013 I was chosen to travel to Udaipur , India with 12 other students to help build schools and water systems in rural India. This experience changed my outlook on life and taught me to never take anything for granted solidifying my belief that hard work, commitment and determination will allow for the the completion of goals and the achievement of dreams and aspirations. With a rigorous academic schedule and a love for community service I have been able to balance my studies, athletics, and compassion for others into a very rewarding experience that I aspire to take to the next level.
