Hello! My name is Katie Jones. I am a 5'8 student at Baldwin High school. Ever since I was little I loved to play sports, but I was most passionate for basketball. As a freshmen I was fortunate to be apart of our varsity squad. I played significant minutes in every game and was one of the first or second people off the bench. Freshman year was more of a learning year and finding my role, but going into sophomore year I learned a lot and found the role I needed to have for my team. My sophomore, junior and senior year I was a starter, leader and captain. I have earned honors on the Bulldog/Wildcat Classic All Tournament Team (3x), Wellsville Top Gun All Tournament Team (3x), 1st Team All-League (Jr & Sr.) and 2nd Team All League (So.), Lawrence Journal World All-Area (Jr.), Lawrence Journal World All-Area Honorable Mention (So.). I have also been named to the Kansas-Sports.com 1st Team All State (Sr.), Topeka Capital Journal 3rd Team All 4A-I State (Sr.) and Topeka Capital Journal Honorable Mention All 4A State (So. Jr). I have a passion to help my teammates improve and learn everyday on the court. Most practices I come in early and/or stay late to work on my game. My personality on the court I feel is the same as in the classroom, hard working and dedicated. When looking for a college, the size or location doesn't make a big difference. As long as I am at a college that I can excel through more in the game and get a great education that is all that matters to me. For my choice in a major I am not for sure yet. I would love to stay around sports and major in something like Physical Therapy, or Athletic Training, but I also have thought about Physical Education and Coaching too. In college my main goal is to find a place where I can play basketball. As I said before, size, location or division doesn't make a difference to me as long as I get the opportunity to succeed in the sport that I love so much. I hope to make the best of my last year in high school and hope to find my future home soon.
