Hello, my name is Taylor Jaksich, and my goal is to be a student-athlete at a college competitive in both academics and athletics. I have dedicated a lot of my time and efforts to play basketball at the next level and will continue to do such. My goals and aspirations are not only to be a college basketball player, but to also excel at the next level. I am an all-around player and pride myself on playing an all around game. I played on the JV and Varsity levels as a Freshman and I was successful on both teams throughout the year. Our JV team record was 20-1 and I led the team in scoring, assists, blocks, and steals. I saw time on the floor at the varsity level as well. A teammate and I were the first freshman to letter at LC in over 10 years. This summer I started at the 2 for a 17u Illinois Defenders Team, where i was second in scoring and minutes, and led team in steals and assists. Now, starting my Sophomore year at LC, I will be in competition for a starting spot at the shooting guard and small forward positions, while also backing up at the 4. Lake Central will have an extremely competitive team capable of winning conference, sectional, regionals and beyond.
Besides basketball, in the classroom I hold a 3.7 cumulative GPA and take an advanced/honors class schedule. I plan to start taking my ACT/SAT's at the end of Sophomore year. My plan is to attend a college that offers a competitive curriculum both academically and athletically. I am looking for a school that offers degree opportunities in Biology and Medicine. Education and athletics are very important to my family as my father attended The University of Illinois and my brother currently a student athlete playing baseball at Ball State. As I progress thru high school, I will be recruited for both athletics and academics.
I am a good candidate for any team because I am a great teammate and want to be the best person I can be for my family and friends. I am different from other recruits because I excel both on and off the court, and I work extremely hard to make myself and the people that support and care about me proud of my accomplishments. I will make the most of my opportunities to be the best possible student athlete i could be.
