Playing basketball, for me, is a necessity. I am fully commited to train to be the best player I can become. I started off with basketball in fourth grade. Unfortunately, I failed to try out in fifth and sixth grade. Then I began back playing in seventh grade and have played ever since. In middle school, our team went undefeated for two years but won the city championship all three years. Not only were we a good team, but our grades were there also. In middle school I never had anything below a 3.5 GPA.
Going to highschool, I knew it was going to be more challenging, but I was determined. I knew that as a freshman, you want to set a good impression academically and physically. I remained a 4.2 GPA throughout the school year with also being a freshman who played varsity for all the sports she played. In basketball, I became a starting guard on varsity. My team wasn't extremely good, but our improvement as a whole was recognizable from the beginning of the year to the end. Even though we ended our season with only one win, we were still recognized by IHSAA for our outstanding attitude. Shortly after the season was over, I was invited to attend the North vs. South basketball game in Indianapolis. I could have done better, but I ended with four points. Learning to adjust with new players was a key to being successful in that game and I indeed learned how to do that. Giving up was not an option and will never be an option. I intend to finish off my highschool career playing basketball with the hope of being recruited to a college team. Playing basketball is a necessity.
