I am a hardworking person both academically and athletically and I am in the middle of my junior year at Joliet Catholic Academy, a private school in Joliet, Illinois. I have been a two sport varsity athlete both freshman and sophomore year playing basketball and track. Playing sports, I have learned to be committed, dedicated, and hardworking in everything I do.
I first became interested in basketball in the third grade and fell in love with the game. I train every single day during the season and also during the offseason. I do speed, strength, plyometrics and power with Acceleration Sports Performance at least three times a week and additional basketball training with Matt Miller of M14Hoops. Every day I think about what my opponent is doing and how I can do more to gain an advantage and this motivates me to put all of my energy into being the best basketball player I can be. One of my biggest dreams is to take all the skills I have learned throughout the years and play basketball at a college I truly love.
Although basketball is one of my main priorities, grades will always come first. I realize that without my grades, the opportunities I have for playing basketball would not be there, therefore I take great pride in my schoolwork. I am currently in the honors program at Joliet Catholic Academy and plan to be a member in the National Honors Society. I am already a member of The Foreign Language National Honors Society and have received multiple awards for my achievements in French. In college, my goals are to put 110% of my effort into all of my classes and come out of school with a degree in law. My biggest dream in life is to be a lawyer and I want to use basketball to make that ultimate dream come true.
I can offer so much to a college team. Not only can I be a threat on the court but I can also lead the way by setting a good example of great character and sound judgment on the court. As a basketball player I can play as an observant point guard who can make things happen, shoot the 3 ball from anywhere around the arc, and be the toughest player on the court to do whatever it takes to secure a loose ball. Finally, basketball is my passion and I want to make a big impact on any team that I play on. I will not stop working until I reach all of my goals both athletically and academically and even then, I will push myself to go even further.
