Hello my name is Brandie and I am 16 years old in the c/o 2021,
I began my interest in basketball through my older brother who is one of my main role models. When I went to his first game at the age of 7, I knew that this is the sport I wanted to pursue. At first it was because my competitive spirit wanted to beat him at something but when I picked up the ball I fell in love, little did I know that this game could teach me so many life skills. Growing up playing against my brother who was always a foot taller was a struggle, I would get blocked, pushed around, but yet for some odd reason I would always ask him to "run it back" trying to decrease his score and increase mine each game. These same characteristics transferred into the classroom when I was taught that knowledge is something no one can take away from you but in sports there is always a chance of injury. Academically my goals are to be the best that I can be, I want to apply the same hard work ethic on the court, to all aspects of my life off the court. I think to a team I bring energy whether it is lifting up my teammate who just missed a shot or hyping up my teammate who scored. All of these life lessons and experiences made me into the person I am today, I hope that I can be an asset to your team.
Thank you for your time!
