My name is Grace Goodwin. I am currently a junior at Ridgefield High School in Connecticut. I see myself as a scholar-athlete. I am passionate about both basketball and academics. It is a dream of mine to play basketball at the collegiate level. I have been playing basketball since I was four years old and it has truly shaped who I am as a person.
I have a 4.05 un-weighted GPA out of a scale of 4.5. I have been on the high honor roll every quarter of my high school career. I am currently taking two advanced placement courses and will be taking three during my Senior year. I was recently nominated to become a member of the National Honor Society. This past year I played for Ridgefield’s varsity basketball team as a 5’10” small forward and shooting guard. Last year, we won our county’s divisional championship known as FCIAC which is highly competitive. My strengths as an individual player are my speed, agility, and ability to drive to the basket. I was recently named the "Most Improved Player" by my coaches. This means a lot to me because I am always looking to grow and improve as a player. During the off-season I play for an AAU team called the WesConn Fillies.
Outside of basketball, I also have many other passions. I participate in spring varsity track and have qualified for FCIAC and States for both high jump and long jump. I am also a member of the Ridgefield Chapter of National Charity League which is a mother-daughter volunteer organization. In addition to all of this, I coach basketball for Ridgefield Basketball Association. I thoroughly enjoy coaching and believe that I am a positive role model for young girls. It is a privilege to teach them about the sport I love so much. I am also a Role Model Mentor where I work one on one with young girls who are interested in being successful in both academics and athletics. I am a dedicated student and athlete and I am determined to play basketball at the college level.
