Athena Saragoza '21 Recruiting Profile

I began playing basketball and soccer when I was 3 years old. I have always loved playing both sports all of my life. Once I started high school, I chose to dedicate myself to the game of basketball. Training,  playing, competing..... I love it all. One of my aspirations has been to play collegiate basketball at the highest level.  

My focus has been to give 100 % of myself to everything I do;  On and off the court.
I take my classes at Santa Barbara High very seriously and I take great pride in my school work.I believe my time management skills, as well as my focus and determination, are a few of my greatest strengths.
My ultimate academic goal is to receive my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. 

I feel my competitive spirit, grit, strong team leadership skills, and my unwavering work ethic; on the court and in the classroom, I believe whole heartedly, is what separates me from other athletes.
I’m also very coachable and always receptive to learning and improving in any way that I can. With hard work and perseverance,  I have also developed into becoming a strong and consistent shooter.  I’m also never afraid to attack the basket and believe I make a strong impact on both ends of the court.

I am highly motivated, self driven and coachable; I have strong leadership skills and have excellent ability to develop strong relationships with teammates and coaches. I am focused on finding the right fit and looking forward to grinding and earning my spot; and finding  a college where I can not only thrive academically,  but also help make school program history.
