My name is Isabella Serrano and I currently attend Port Of Los Angeles High School.I am a part of a youth leadership program called (YLC),it is a non profit program that is funded through donations from companies. The program teaches kids like me leadership skills, oral skills, and analytical skills that will later come in handy in our lives.By being apart of this group it has taught me meaningful skills and it has showed me my weaknesses and strengths .For example, because I am apart of this youth leadership program,it has helped me become more of a leader and role model outside and inside of the court.I have learned how to communicate and get my point across to my teammates in a matter that they can understand and follow through with my requests.Playing college basketball is one of my many goals aside from wanting to become a lawyer and going to law school. If I was given the chance to play at a high elite school,I would showcase my leadership skills and my talents that can be done with a basketball.Aside from wanting to play college basketball,I am very hardworking and committed when it comes to any obstacles that are in my way of succeeding. The only thing that is as important to me as basketball, family, and god, is my grades. My grades reflect off me as to how I manage my time in school and outside of school.Aside from academics and school, basketball is not a way of passing time for me,it is a way of life.If I was given the opportunity to play at a college level,I would bring so much to the table regarding leadership skills, oral skills, analytical skills along with basketball talent.
