Lauren Nubla '15 Recruiting Profile

I am a dedicated and hardworking student-athlete with aspirations to play at the next level while also furthering my education. Because of my ability to balance my academics and athletics, I finished the first and second semesters of my junior year with a 4.0 GPA. I believe that there is always room for improvement, which always makes me want to work that much harder. 

I've played point guard since I was about 10 years old in various levels of competition ranging from my elementary schools team, to U17 AAU. As the point guard, I've developed a very high level IQ for the game and to control/take control of a game. My ability to see the floor allows me to advance the ball up to my teammates on a transition play, or to create for myself or for my teammates at a half court set. I get to the basket and finish well. While offense puts points on the board, I believe that there is no offense without great defense. I play hard- nose, fundamental defense on the ball, as well as anticipating the passing lane, and helping on the weak side. One of the greatest assets to my game is my speed. I thrive in an upbeat, fast-pace, agressive style of play, but also have the ability to slow down the tempo of a game. I believe in going your hardest and carrying a positive attitude whether you're starting, coming off the bench, or if you're up/down by 20. I always do my best to keep my team going by leading by example, and encouraging/picking them up when they're down. 

I aspire to play for a NCAA I team and enjoy a high level of competition. However, I'm all about finding a school that best suites me both academically and athletically. I'm determined to perform for any and all coaches, and to conquer any challenges that I may face along the way.
