Leeana Bade '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Leeana Bade. I am a 5'10 senior who starts on the Division V girl's basketball team of Pinewood: a private school located in Los Altos Hills, CA. I have been playing on the girl's varsity team since I was a freshman and as a freshman, I helped my team win the California Division V State Championship game. I have and still am one of the tallest girls on my team and even though my team lacks in size and plays in the lowest high school division, we have achieved many accomplishments and have beaten power house teams. Last year, I helped my team win Norcal Finals against our rivals, Eastside College Prep; a team we lost to twice during the season until meeting them again in Norcal Finals. In that game, I made 18 points and hustled for 6 rebounds as well as earning the Most Valuable Player of the game. One of these many achievements I have accomplished shows a big improvement from the player I was when I first entered Pinewood. I could barely dribble the ball or shoot a three-pointer. My set of basketball skills were not up to par with a lot of my basketball peers but I improved tremendously because I wanted to be a better basketball player. Right now, I am still working on my weaknesses as a basketball player; working out three times a week and self practice are just a few examples. I aspire to play college basketball and will do everything and anything to accomplish this goal.
