Basketball has always been one of the most important aspects of my life. As a kid, I loved to be on the court for as long as I could. Whether with my team, my coaches, or just shooting around by myself, I have always enjoyed playing the game. Playing basketball at the college level, and having the game be part of my overall college experience, has been a long time dream of mine.
Over the years, I have gained a great deal of experience and have developed my game to the point that I believe that I can be an asset to the right program. Always being a little taller than others my age, I typically played the post-position. This helped me develop a very strong inside game, excellent rebounding skills, and excellent basketball instincts. My coaches have noted that I have a knack for finding the open shooter and passing the ball with great touch beyond the average post player. In order to play at the next level, I have committed myself to developing into a solid outside player as well. My ball handling skills and outside shot are strong and getting stronger everyday as I work on those skills.
Throughout my career, I have been known for being very coachable. Even in other sports, all of my coaches have commended me for my ability to take what they tell me and learn from it. I'm a team leader and well-regarded and respected by my teammates. I always make sure to encourage them and push them to work harder by pushing myself and working my hardest.
My academic accomplishments are extremely important to me. I work hard to make sure my grades are high and I put it at my highest priority to get a good education. I have participated in several clubs and have had the opportunity to help coach youth basketball camps. The camps have given me the chance to teach younger kids certain basketball techniques in addition to helping them develop a passion for the game.
I am seeking a positive college experience that challenges me both academically and athletically. I am open to attending college anywhere that my athletic abilities can be utilized and I can contribute in a positive way, both on and off the court.
