Anna Overland '15 Recruiting Profile

I am a right handed shortstop and third baseman, who enjoys swinging the bat. I have been playing since I was 9-10 years old, and I couldn't imagine my life without fastpitch. I am part of the graduating class of 2015, and I am currently a senior at Gig Harbor High School. This will be my fourth year as a varsity starter. I play for the love of the game, rather than for the name on the back of the jersey. I have learned to forget a bad at bat, and to put trust in my teammates. I have been told over and over that I am an extremely coachable athlete that is open to new techniques. I am always looking to improve my skills, so I can be as close to perfection as possible. I can also be looked upon as a quiet leader, for I am not always the loud one, but I lead by example. I hustle on and off the field, and is always on the fence cheering my teammates on. Although I am truly dedicated to fastpitch, I take pride in spending time with family and friends. I enjoy the outdoors, and giving a helping hand to anybody that needs it. I am a volunteer reading mentor at our local elementary school. I spend time with kids once a week helping them improve their reading skills, while boosting their self-confidence. My goal since I began to play fastpitch was to one day be able to play in college, so I am taking that dream to the next level. I would love to stay on the west coast, but I am open to anything. I am looking for a competitive program that is outstanding academically and athletically. I have not decided my career path yet, but I am looking along the lines of a career in the medical field. I would love to have an oppertunity to play while preparing for my future.
