My name is Bayleigh Borden, however since I was in 8u, everyone has called me by my nickname, “Milk”. My 8u coach started calling me the "Milk Lady" because I always delivered, and the name stuck! I play for Team TFS STX 14u based out of Pearland, Texas. I am a Right-Handed Pitcher and a First Baseman.
My focus as a softball player, for the past several years, has been on pitching. I practice pitching at least 4 days per week so that I can stay sharp and remain an asset to my teammates. Additionally, I spend an hour each week with my pitching coach who ensures that my mechanics are solid. That doesn’t mean that I don’t put time into my hitting and fielding also. I make sure I work on hitting at least twice per week in addition to an hour, weekly with my hitting coach. Further, I get in an hour each week on the field working on the fundamentals of fielding with my fielding coach. All of this time is outside of weekly Team TFS STX practices.
I also know that softball will only help me to reach another goal, which is to get a college education. At Berry Miller Junior High in Pearland, Texas, I am in all Pre-AP classes, except for Algebra and Spanish, which are AP High School credit courses. For the first three 9-weeks of this school year, I have maintained A averages in all of my courses. It is my goal to receive a degree in a Health related field so that I can work in the Healthcare Industry after my Softball career has ended.
Outside of softball and school, I enjoy attending church with my family. I attend a church that has many events for the youth, and I enjoy attending and growing in my Christian faith. Also, I like to draw, paint, color, and participate in many other artistic activities.
