CLAUDIA CARRILLO '20 Recruiting Profile

Since starting off playing travel ball, I was almost always one of the oldest girls on the team.  Being the oldest has helped me to grow as a leader and to become more vocal. I hold everyone accountable, myself included. I started playing softball around the age of 3 and fell in love with the game. The discipline and structure of it, has given me life. When I am completely committed to something, like softball, I feel I can do anything. Softball has not only made me physically strong, it's made me mentally tough. Starting on a new team this summer and proving myself to the coach, as well as the other girls on the team was a challenge. But I've not only proven myself-- I've earned a starting defensive spot and earned my way onto the roster. I feel that with my size, strength, and work ethic I can play on any college team.

Academics are just as important to me. I am in the top 6% of my class. I am ranked number 43 out of 756 student and maintain a 3.78 GPA. All of my core classes are honors level and I am taking my first AP courses this fall. My goal is to graduate in the top 5% of my class and to get into a great school where I can get an education that will be useful for me to build a career as a coach and teacher. My biggest aspiration is to coach on the college level someday!
