I started my sports career playing baseball because it was more prevalent where I previously lived, but I made the switch to softball to be in a place where I felt like I belonged. Softball is something that I am glad I get to call home. Every time I take the field, I play my heart out because I know there is someone out there in the world that would love to have the opportunities that I have. I have learned not to take advantage of my talent, but to use it to further my team, and bond with the other girls that are doing the same. I have also learned to trust. I have learned to have faith in all my teammates in order to play at our best abilities, and know every girl next to me will deliver at their best. My Freshman year of High School, I started in left field on the top JV team and helped lead us to a Co-District Championship, with an overall record of 21-3.
In college, I not only want the physical challenge in softball, but the academic challenge of a college with a great educational program to better myself for future jobs and life experiences. I believe I have the qualities of a leader that will have a positive impact on any team.
