Hello, my name is Makena Fidler. I am a Class of 2020 at Anderson High School in Austin, Texas.
I first started playing softball at the age of 7 and haven't looked back since. This past year as a freshman, I started every game as Catcher on Varsity. Due to my performance, I received 2017 First-Team All-District 14-6A Award, 2017 All-District Academic, and 2017 Anderson Varsity Softball's Offensive MVP.
I love the "at home" feeling that being on the field gives me both during practices and games. I also love the opportunities that the game has provided such as competing/meeting other players from around the country, making new friends and traveling to different places for tournaments and camps. I love being able to compete against other top talent and working hard while having fun with my teammates and coaches.
I would welcome the chance to speak with you and learn about your team and opportunities. I believe that I would be an excellent candidate for your team because of my leadership skills, athletic abilities and love of competition. I feel that I am different from other recruits due to my natural leadership and enthusiasm to help others become their best self.
Ideally, I would like to go somewhere I can continue to play softball (the sport I love) while also pursuing a top education. Currently, I would like to pursue a degree in Athletic Training/ Kinesiology. I am a member of my high school's Student Sports Medicine program and enjoy the roles and responsibilities that athletic trainers have, however, I am open to other possibilities.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
