Maggie Dorsey '20 Recruiting Profile

The first game I pitched in was a championship game my 7th grade year. I can remember all the nerves and the feeling of my teammates relying on me. This was on of the best games my team and I had ever played together. While this was a great game, I know now that in order to step up my game for high school and college softball, I need to pitch with more velocity and accuracy. This refection of my softball skills makes me think about the reason I fell in love with softball. I fell in love because its the one sport, one place, one game that I never have to doubt myself or feel not good enough.

I am looking for a softball program that I can rely on through trials and triumphs. I always give my full effort no matter the current status of the game. Also, I want a team that is always positive, win or lose but, are self-reflective. No matter the direction the game is going, I always encourage my team and myself. I believe that a team should be a second family or a community. Due to my bubbly personality, I am able to form a trusting relationship with my teammates. While I hold high stats and goals in softball, I also uphold high standards and expectations for my academics. I want a college that matches my passion for not only the game but for my career goals.
