I am interested in obtaining an animal science degree with an end goal of a career in the swine industry -- specifically swine genetics. For the past 6yrs, I have been active in my local 4H and participated in several state and national pork and lamb shows. I am someone who is goal oriented, driven, and focused to succeed in the classroom and on the field. My goal is to be part of a team with a coaching staff that will encourage growth and development on the field and off. My teammates have always been important to me and I want that to continue at the college level. As a pitcher, I value and understand the importance of the defense behind me and appreciate what they do to help me on the mound. On the field, I am competitive and always give 110%. I work throughout the season, and in the off season, with a pitching coach to continue to build my strength, accuracy, and speed as a pitcher. I am currently throwing in the low 60's almost consistently. My goal as an incoming Freshman is to work toward 65mph this winter. I currently throw a fastball, a palm ball, curve ball, rise ball, screw ball, slow drop, and fast drop. When I am not on the mound, my second position is an outfielder. I am a strong outfielder and can cover a lot of ground! Finally, I am a solid power hitter. I currently lead our travel ball team with the most HR's this season. I have quick hands and excellent base running skills. In closing, I believe in the concept of teams. I believe that we each have strengths which complement one another to make a team the best it can be.
