Hailey Schaefer '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Hailey Schaefer and I have been playing softball since I have been 5 years old. I absolutely love this sport and I work very hard on and off the field and within the classroom, too.  Balancing athletics and academics can be challenging at times, but my determination helps me achieve both. I am always working to improve myself to be better than the day before and you will always find me staying after practice to make that happen. I take great pride in being a dedicated teammate and player along with also being a very coachable player. The biggest component to my attitude is to always stay positive and continue to find a way to bounce back when things don’t go my way. I believe that helps set the tone and energy within my team.  You will always find a smile on my face when I play as I am absolutely having fun even when it’s an intense game. I am a multi-sport athlete which I believe has attributed to myself being a well-rounded athlete and has given me the drive to perform at the highest level academically and athletically. I have always dreamed of playing softball at the college level, but also want to attend college where I can push myself academically, too.
